BELGIAN BEER JOURNAL JOINS FORCES WITH LA BRASSERIE UNIBROUE TO RELEASE “SANTÉ MES AMIS! – A TRIBUTE TO UNIBROUE” SITE

REDDING, CALIFORNIA

Belgian Beer Journal has published a new site /section dedicated to all things Unibroue. After several months of hard work and collaboration efforts with Master Brewer Jerry Vietz, “SANTÉ MES AMIS! – A TRIBUTE TO UNIBROUE” was released on Saturday, September 29, 2018 to a very enthusiastic online reception.

“I always knew that many more BrewViews on the world class Unibroue ales were in our plans. It just made complete sense for us to publish a site that was a fitting tribute to all things Unibroue” Gordon A. Ponce, CEO of Belgian Beer Journal states.

The new site highlights the following areas:

“Belgian Beer Journal is always assured a huge spike in visits to our website and all of our social media pages whenever a Unibroue BrewView is published. The Unibroue Tribute site will be a first in our company’s history, and just a scant few days after its publication, we have seen the level of traction increase tremendously to Belgian Beer Journal. This is of course, due to Unibroue’s stellar global reputation, and above all, the multi-award winning ales that Master Brewer Jerry Vietz and his team produces” Ponce further elaborates.

“SANTÉ MES AMIS! – A TRIBUTE TO UNIBROUE” will have a permanent link at Belgian Beer Journal’s home page for new and existing supporters of the brewery. The tribute site is in its first release stage, as more sections and many more BrewViews will be added in the foreseeable future.

BELGIAN BEER JOURNAL CELEBRATES ITS 5TH ANNIVERSARY!

5 years ago today, Belgian Beer Journal was launched. It was born from a great and a 20-year desire to taste different beers from Belgium and from other countries brewing beers in the classic Belgian styles, and then to write about them.

I actually started this concept in 1995, and I named it THE BEERMASTER’S CAFE. For a short few years, I was in contact with Vanberg & Dewulf, Brewery Ommegang, and Global Beer Network (when it was in California ran by Johnny & Claudine Fincioen) and wrote about their beers. But, life got in the way, and I went down another career path… long story.

JUMP TO THE PRESENT…

As our good friend, Master Brewer Jerry Vietz (of Unibroue) says: “Great beer deserves attention.” We agree wholeheartedly. BelgianBeer Journal.com is a platform where Belgian Beer (and Belgian-style and Belgian-inspired beers) will be showcased. We seek to educate the populace that these beers deserve the respect and accolades that great wines receive. After all, great beer is more complex (and more difficult to produce) than wine is. Our viewpoints on those beers will be fun, idiosyncratic, and thought-provoking.

OUR CORE MISSION & OUR BELIEFS statements found at our ABOUT US page on our website remain steadfast:

https://belgianbeerjournal.com/aboutus/

We don’t have anything planned for our 5th Anniversary at the moment, due to the fact that we are hurriedly trying to meet our deadline of Saturday September 29, 2018 to post our SANTÉ MES AMIS! – A TRIBUTE TO UNIBROUE site that we have been working at incrementally for several months now.

We do wish to celebrate our milestone in the near future somehow. We’re working on something…

But for now, we wish to thank all of our supporters around the world, and to let you know how much we truly appreciate you!

JULY 14, 2018: BREWVIEW ON GUEUZERIE TILQUIN – QUETSCHE TILQUIN

Hello Belgian Beer Journal fans!

Yes, it’s been a long time (4 months) since our last BrewView. We’ve been a bit busy- we’ve had a logo redesign, front page layout redesign, we’ve hosted private tasting events, and we’re coordinating a very large and upcoming project, to be released (hopefully!) by the end of August 2018.

In the meanwhile, we wanted to publish a very special BrewView on one of the best loved Gueuze blenders in all of Belgium: Gueuzerie Tilquin. We were able to actually score an interview with it’s founder, Pierre Tilquin!

This is a world class beer from a Belgian Gueuze blendery that has gained superstar status in under a decade. Not easy to do in the world of Lambic beer…

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY 2018!

TO ALL THE COURAGEOUS MEN AND WOMEN SERVING OUR GREAT UNITED STATES, WE AT BELGIAN BEER JOURNAL SALUTE YOU, AND THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO TO PROTECT US! AND FOR ALL THOSE WHO PAID THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE THESE PAST 242 YEARS, YOU ARE NOT FORGOTTEN!

Sincerely,

Gordon A. Ponce
CEO, Belgian Beer Journal

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!

Fathers are Wonderful People

 Fathers are wonderful people
Too little understood,
And we do not sing their praises
As often as we should…

For, somehow, Father seems to be
The man who pays the bills,
While Mother binds up little hurts
And nurses all our ills…

And Father struggles daily
To live up to “HIS IMAGE”
As protector and provider
And “hero or the scrimmage”…

And perhaps that is the reason
We sometimes get the notion,
That Fathers are not subject
To the thing we call emotion,

But if you look inside Dad’s heart,
Where no one else can see
You’ll find he’s sentimental
And as “soft” as he can be…

But he’s so busy every day
In the grueling race of life,
He leaves the sentimental stuff
To his partner and his wife…

But Fathers are just WONDERFUL
In a million different ways,
And they merit loving compliments
And accolade of praise,

For the only reason Dad aspires
To fortune and success
Is to make the family proud of him
And to bring them happiness…

And like OUR HEAVENLY FATHER,
He’s a guardian and a guide,
Someone that we can count on
To be ALWAYS ON OUR SIDE.
